The Tuliplift™ Facelift: A New Option in Facelifts

LOS ANGELES, Calif. July 29, 2005—Answering increasing patient demand for more versatile and natural looking facelift options, David Rahimi, MD, created the Tuliplift Facelift. A mini facelift, the Tuliplift is a fully customizable procedure that addresses a patient's problem areas more effectively than traditional or other mini facelifts. And since the Tuliplift Facelift is minimally invasive, it's safer and heals more quickly.

"One size doesn't fit all," explains Dr. Rahimi. "The days of giving everyone the same facelift are long gone. This applies to mini facelifts, as well." Like other successful mini lifts, the Tuliplift Facelift offers a number of basic benefits: no cutting into the hairline, no pulled look thanks to the use of deeper sutures underneath the skin and a safer procedure because all the work gets done above the major nerves and with the aid of local anesthesia and mild sedation.

That's where the similarities end. The Tuliplift Facelift stands out from the current spate of mini facelifts in three important ways:

One, the sutures have three different vectors-like three different petals of the tulip-that each address a separate problem of the aging face. The first "petal" pulls the face horizontally and slightly up; the second tightens the jowls; and the third deals with the sagging of the neck.

Two, the three sutures allow Dr. Rahimi to individualize the lift for each patient. "For example, if the jowls are heavy, I can assess and tighten that part of the lift more and achieve a better, more aggressive result," says Dr. Rahimi. "Think of it as a three dimensional lift with three lifting levers which can be customized."

Third, the Tuliplift Facelift requires a certain level of artistry from the practitioner. "It's necessary for the surgeon to have a light hand and an overall sense of aesthetics. This is what makes the Tuliplift Facelift different," says Dr. Rahimi. "I always tell patients to bring photos of when they were 15 years younger. Most facelift patients don't want to look drastically different. They want to look rested and natural. The Tuliplift Facelift provides this balance."

Recovery can take as little as one week with many patients going back to work in seven days. And since the procedure is performed under local anesthesia, there is a dramatically lower risk of complication.
